Zimbabwe Team Squad T20 World Cup 2016

Zimbabwe is a test playing nation which has qualified for the 1st round of T20 world cup 2016 which will start from 11th March 2016. Zimbabwe can also qualify for the 2nd round as the top 2 teams of the 1st round will reach the round 2 of the T20 world cup 2015. Zimbabwe acquired the test status in 1992. After that, Zimbabwe has played against the entire test playing nations in test and ODI matches. 1999 ICC ODI World cup was the best world cup for Zimbabwe when the team defeated several good teams including India and South Africa.


Zimbabwe has played in 4 T20 world cups as it missed the 2nd world cup due to withdrawal. In these T20 world cup tournaments, the performance of Zimbabwe was not up to the mark as 9th position was the best that the team achieved in the 1st T20 world cup played in 2007. The winning percentage of Zimbabwe team is 33.33% during their world cup encounters as they won 3 and lost 6 matches out of total 9 matches they played.


Now Zimbabwe side will take part in the 6th T20 world cup which will be held in India from 11th March to 3rd April 2016. There are several good players in the side while the main task of the Zimbabwe team will be to reach the 2nd round of the world cup after playing well in the 1st round.
