Updated on: 19-08-2017 Author: T20 Worldcup 2016

India is a very important team of international cricket. It is very difficult for other teams to defeat the Indian team at its home ground while India has also performed well on the pitches of other countries especially Asian countries. India has won the ICC ODI world cup twice. Initially in the 3rd ODI world cup in 1983 while their last ODI WC victory was in 2011 at their home ground.

India has also won a T20 world cup in 2007 which was the 1st T20 world cup tournament. Apart from that, India was also the runner up team in the last world cup which was held in 2014. In the 5 t20 world cups, India has played 28 matches out of which they won 17 matches and lost 9 matches while their winning percentage is 64.81%.

Wicketkeeper batsman Mahendera Singh Dhoni is the captain of Indian T20 team while other important batsmen, bowlers and all rounders in the team are Virat Kohli, Shekhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Mohit Sharma and Ravichandra Ashwin. India is now playing the ICC T20 world cup at its home ground and they will try their best to win a T20 world cup here like they won the ODI world cup in India in 2011.
